Greenfolk Festival – Community Garden Open Day

For the first time since work got underway to create the Community Garden in September 2019, we are finally able to host our first event, with COVID safety measures in please.

Come along and see what has been achieved in such a short space of time. Bring along the family and spend the day at the Garden.  We have something for everyone, with plenty of space for children to play including a natural children’s play area, live music, refreshments and homemade cakes, crafts and plants for sale. Derbyshire Wildlife Trust will be joining us demonstrating Bushcrafts, Campfire making and other activities. Also plenty of talks and demonstrations going on throughout the day including:-

  • Creature house building
  • Learn all about Butterflies at our Butterfly Bank
  • Discover the world of Bees from our resident Beekeeper and watch them safely through the demonstration Hive
  • Find out more about Transition Town and what this could mean for Ilkeston
  • Discover what Permaculture is and see it being put into practice in the Garden
  • Flower arranging

Please note: Masks to be worn inside the Summerhouse and cash only sales.

Compost toilet.
